It took a hardworking team to put together the fundraising lunch on Sunday, February 2nd , but it was all worth it. Let’s start with the soup: The minestrone was made by Aileen Williams and Ruth Zucchi, and the chili was made by Ann Kammeraad. The brownies were prepared by Sally Williams and Laura Wharff. .
Set-up and serving were accomplished by Jan Brown, Jim and Patty DeRoos, Beverly Bancroft, Kirk Kammeraad, Ann Kammeraad, Ruth Zucchi, and Aileen. Clean-up was headed by David and Carol Strait and assisted by Susan Brown, Judy Wissel, and Beverly Bancroft. Mary Lingenfelter took charge of the cash box, and Gary Colby put his ice cream machine to work for the cause.
Entertainment, in the form of a sing-along, was led by Jay Holmes, Jeanne Pollard, and Mark Wharff. Song sheets and other table decorations were provided by Aileen. Thank you to all of you who helped sing the rousing rendition of “Dropkick Me, Jesus, Through the Goal Posts of Life.”
But the stars of the day were the two local artists who donated breathtakingly beautiful handmade bowls: Tom Silva and Randy Pearsall. The Food Pantry cannot thank them enough. They made it possible for the Pantry to clear almost $900.
Thank you, all. Let’s do it again next year!
