Music: Early group: Chancel Choir Rehearsal
This adult choir is a fun and dedicated group led by Anne Talcott. They meet for rehearsals on Thursdays in order to make beautiful music for Sunday worship services. There are 2 times for the Chancel Choir to rehearse this time of year. There’s an early 3:00pm session for those who are unable to come at 7:00 for whatever reason and the other portion of the choir comes together at 7:00pm. Come and join us!

Come and discover music & beginning handbells for ages 5-12 as well as any interested adults!
Music Discovery (Beginning & Advanced)
The young & old new voices of St. Paul’s UMC have a weekly rehearsal which includes some singing and some beginning handbell instruction. (Adults interested in learning handbells are welcome to join). This group will often sing during a church service once a month. Anne Talcott leads the lessons with the assistance of Darin Brown.
Come and see what music is all about. You may have an untapped talent. Maybe you’ve been curious about playing an instrument. Come discover your joy!

If you have some experience with reading music or have completed the beginning handbell class this the class for you!

An outdoor experience! This group meets in the gardens weekly on Friday mornings to keep our church grounds looking beautiful. They keep up with the many small (and some not-so-small) gardening maintenance tasks. If you love to rake, weed, prune, maybe tinker or just get your fingers in the dirt, we’d love to have you join us! Our group is getting older and can certainly use some younger energy from time to time. We’d appreciate any time you can devote to this. Even if you can join us just once a month or so.

For those interested, there is coffee and fellowship time available after service where you can grab a cup of coffee, water or lemonade and a bite to eat and then, if you’d like, you can meet up with friends or maybe meet someone new!

Food Pantry Distribution Day
This is a monthly event taking place on the last Saturday of each month providing free food for local Manteca area residents in need. Just bring your ID and names and birth dates for any household members. This is a drive through event where you don’t even need to get out of your car after you’ve been here once and completed the intake form. . (Please use the Powers Ave. driveway to enter the parking lot).
If you’re looking to volunteer at our Food Pantry, there are lots of different jobs to be done, both on our distribution day as well as during the month.. Some of the jobs are once a week for 2-3 hours doing things like bagging groceries or helping with loading and unloading from a shopping trip, and some (like working on distribution day) are just once a month for a few hours. Our Mystery Book Club is well underway.
The book we’ll be reading for September is ”Ordinary Grace” by William Kent Krueger. Please consider picking up a copy of the book to read prior to the meeting so you can join us as we discuss and compare notes about the story, characters, surprises, etc.. You can look for it at the library, Amazon, Thrift Books or Audio books on line or any other source you’re aware of.

We’ll be setting up food tables at 9:00am and organizing cars to wind through our parking lot to pick up their food. The line will begin getting served from 10:00 and should be done at 11:00.

This group is open to anyone who wants to join, to sing, play an instrument or both. Come join this fun group as they get prepared to worship with the congregation, usually, a couple of Sundays a month, providing the congregation with a more upbeat twist to the traditional hymns as well as some other beautiful and fun worship songs. We also have some non-traditional instruments joined in with this group so if you have something you’d like to bring and play, please come and join us! Rehearsals are in the Sanctuary.

Ad Council Meeting (FS)
The Ad Council meets monthly, on the third Sunday, in the Fireside Room, however, this month we’re meeting on the 2nd Sunday so we can hold the meeting immediately after the Church Conference ends. It’s open to all who wish to attend.
Annual Church Conference (FS)
Once again the time has come for our annual Church Charge Conference meeting where we’ll discuss the status of our church including finances, attendance, outreach and other programs & statistics. Reports are given by committee chairs to the conference leader in attendance. It’s open to all and all church members are able to vote.
