Messy Church is a Christ-centered intergenerational worship experience that’s fun, interactive, and open to people of all ages.

We’ll be meeting in the Fellowship Hall for Fun. Faith, Fellowship.

The book study will portion will be on The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt.

This group meets weekly in the Fireside Room. All are welcome to join in our discussion as we read and explore the current book. This class reads the book in class and then has some discussion time.

This class meets on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Fellowship Hall. The class is offered for free by Elaine, a volunteer who teaches several different types of classes in other locations. Any love offerings will be donated back to St. Paul’s and will go towards our fund to purchase some AED devices.

Come and work on your “temple” to keep it toned or even get into a little better shape than you’re currently in. Movement is good both physical and mental wellbeing.

Manteca Interfaith Community Appeal meets in our Fireside Room on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

This group gathers at the parsonage to watch an episode of “The Chosen” series each week and then discuss. Each episode is approximately 30 - 45 minutes long (plus or minus a few minutes). This 7 week course begins tonight. It is being led by our Treasurer, Michael Bland. Get your year off to a strong start financially. This is a faith based course to help manage your finances.

Most of these classes will be held in the Fireside Room and/or the Fellowship Hall except for the first 2 weeks in February when we host Family Promise. We’ll move classes to another room for those two days.

Our newest small group utilizes Zoom to meet. We began this study on 1/8/25. Painting the Stars explores the connection between science and faith. If you’re interested, let Pastor Allison know or call the office to get on the email list to receive the ZOOM link.

The church staff meets once a week in the office to review & discuss what’s been happening, what’s scheduled, any issues and how we can improve to make St. Paul’s a place for people to feel welcomed and included. They discuss the coming week(s) to make things flow as they should and seek assistance from other team members if needed to make sure everything runs smoothly..

The Alzheimer’s / Dementia support group meets on Thursdays from 2:00-3:30pm in the Fireside Room. You’re welcome to come and join, share, listen and get support for dealing with this difficult disease.

This adult choir is a fun and dedicated group led by Anne Talcott. They meet for rehearsals on Thursdays in order to make beautiful music for Sunday worship services. There are 2 times for the Chancel Choir to rehearse this time of year. This is an early 3:00pm session for those who are unable to come at 7:00 for whatever reason and the other portion of the choir comes together at 7:00pm. Come and join us! Child care is not available at this time.

The young & old new voices of St. Paul’s UMC have a weekly rehearsal which includes some singing and some beginning handbell instruction. (Adults interested in learning handbells are welcome to join). This group will often sing during a church service once a month. Anne Talcott leads the lessons with the assistance of Darin Brown.

Come and see what music is all about. You may have an untapped talent. Maybe you’ve been curious about playing an instrument. Come discover your joy!

If you have some experience with reading music or have completed the beginning handbell class this the class for you!

This adult choir is a fun and dedicated group led by Anne Talcott. They meet for rehearsals on Thursdays in order to make beautiful music for Sunday worship services. There are 2 times for the Chancel Choir to rehearse this time of year. There’s an early 3:00pm time for those who are unable to come at 7:00 for whatever reason and the other portion of the choir comes together at 7:00pm. Come and join us! Child care is available.

An outdoor experience! This group meets in the gardens weekly on Friday mornings to keep our church grounds looking beautiful. They keep up with the many small (and some not-so-small) gardening maintenance tasks. If you love to rake, weed, prune, maybe tinker or just get your fingers in the dirt, we’d love to have you join us! Our group is getting older and can certainly use some younger energy from time to time. We’d appreciate any time you can devote to this. Even if you can join us just once a month or so.

Kristen Frisk has planned for a grand opening of the new Family Ministries Room at this time (between the end of service and the beginning of the Ad Council meeting). Its an amazing space. Since the new music spaces for Anne Talcott’s music lessons (also a beautifully repurposed room) and additional Food Pantry space are all in the same Church Ministries building, they’ll also be open for everyone to go and check out the changes.

We’ll be meeting in the Fireside Room. This is the committee to which all other committees report to. If you want to know what’s happening around the church, this is the meeting to attend. It’s open to all.

This is a monthly event taking place on the last Saturday of each month providing free food for local Manteca area residents in need. Just bring your ID and names and birth dates for any household members. This is a drive through event where you don’t even need to get out of your car after you’ve been here once and completed the intake form. . (Please use the Powers Ave. driveway to enter the parking lot).

If you’re looking to volunteer at our Food Pantry, there are lots of different jobs to be done, both on our distribution day as well as during the month.. Some of the jobs are once a week for 2-3 hours doing things like bagging groceries or helping with loading and unloading from a shopping trip, and some (like working on distribution day) are just once a month for a few hours. After the conclusion of the Day of Peace celebration we had here on Sept 21, there was a wonderfully enlightening workshop/discussion led by Braver Angels keeping with the MICA theme of respect within our community. With the election over and inauguration day coming, they’ve planned this follow up workshop event. Please come join us!
