Nearly New Thrift Store served the Manteca community for over 40 years offering clothing for all ages, housewares, kitchen items and more at reasonable prices for those in need. Volunteer workers have been trained to sort, wash, price and sell those items to the community.

Nearly New has provided the community with a place to buy reasonably priced, clean and like new clothing, jewelry, small appliances, toys, collectibles, bedding, kitchen items, shoes, etc. The profits generated are designated for mission, with the United Methodist Women of St. Paul’s overseeing the distribution. Thousands of dollars have supported women, youth and children in St. Paul’s, the great Manteca community, the United States and internationally.  Last year the United Methodist Women, for example, disbursed over $17,000 in profits from Nearly New.  St. Paul’s received money for child care ($3,600), the Food Pantry ($2,400), Christmas Flowers to St. Paul’s shut-ins, fellowship coffee & coffee machine repairs ($400), the library ($225), Pastor’s Emergency Fund ($250), and Youth Ministries.

The community of Manteca received money to support the Boys and Girls Club ($900), Haven of Peace ($1,800), Hope Ministries ($1,200), Police Chief’s fund ($1,000), MICA (Manteca Interfaith - $300) and Turkeys R Us ($300).

Monies contributed beyond the local community include Care-A-Vanners ($200), UMCOR ($300), Missionary Katherine Parker in Nepal ($300), Gum Moon and Mary Elizabeth Inn UMW Missions in San Francisco ($100), and United Methodist Women (District, Conference and General-$2,430).
